About Home Devotions

home devotions

For centuries, Catholic families understood the home as a domestic church, a place where faith is lived daily through prayer, sacrifice, and presence.

Yet in modern life, that sense of intentional space is often lost or reduced to decoration. HomeDevotions exists to help restore it.

We create handcrafted sacred furnishings: wall shrines, home altars, reliquary niches, prayer kneelers, and devotional furniture designed not to decorate a room, but to support prayer itself.

More Than Décor

The pieces we make are not ornamental accents or mass-produced religious décor. They are devotional tools, objects meant to be used regularly, quietly, and reverently.

Each design is informed by traditional Catholic architecture and proportion. Clean lines, restrained forms, and honest materials allow the object placed within - a crucifix, icon, relic, or prayer book to remain the focus. Nothing is added without purpose.

Handcrafted With Intention

Every piece from HomeDevotions is made one at a time in our Kentucky workshop using solid wood and traditional woodworking techniques. We do not use veneers or composites.

Wood is chosen, shaped, sanded, and finished by hand. Natural variation in grain and tone is not hidden, but embraced. These marks of material and craft are part of what make each piece unique and worthy of lasting use.

Our aim is to create furnishings that feel at home in quiet prayer corners, family chapels, and personal oratories, and that can be passed down rather than replaced.

Designed for the Domestic Church

HomeDevotions exists to serve prayer in everyday life:

  • Morning and evening family prayer
  • Preparation for the sacraments
  • Rosary and private devotion
  • Teaching children reverence through practice
  • Creating a stable, visible reminder of faith in the home

These furnishings are meant to help cultivate stillness, attention, and habit.

Made to Last

We believe sacred objects should be made with care, patience, and restraint. In a world of disposable goods, our work intentionally moves in the opposite direction.

Each piece is built to endure so that it may accompany prayer not just today, but for years to come.

Observing the Ordinary

Learning How Things Fail

I’ve always been attentive to how objects are used in the real world. Good design begins by paying attention to failure, not perfection. That instinct carries through everything I make: noticing where things break down, then building something better in response.

Rooted in Daily Life

Work, Faith, and Life

Home Devotions grew out of ordinary life, marriage, work, faith, and the desire to live more intentionally. What I make is shaped not just by tools and materials, but by shared values, daily rhythms and the quiet work of building a home together. These pieces are meant for real homes and families.

Form and Order

Proportion, Order, and Meaning

I’m drawn to the underlying order found everywhere in nature — proportions that feel right even before they’re understood. Many of my designs are guided by these principles: balance, restraint, and harmony. They don’t call attention to themselves. They create a framework for what truly matters.
